veroskills

project overview
From 2021 to 2022, I worked as Lead Visual Designer for VeroSkills, an education technology startup focused on connecting technical training, certification programs, and recruiting opportunities within a single platform. The product served multiple user groups, including students pursuing technology certifications, instructors delivering educational content, and recruiters sourcing qualified candidates. My role encompassed both marketing and product design, helping shape the platform's visual language and designing a scalable interface system capable of supporting a growing digital ecosystem.

Designing for Multiple User Journeys One of the project's primary challenges was designing experiences for distinct user groups with different goals and workflows. Students needed intuitive pathways for discovering courses, tracking progress, completing certifications, and showcasing accomplishments. Recruiters required tools for reviewing candidate profiles, evaluating credentials, and identifying potential talent. Working closely with stakeholders, I designed user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and interface concepts that helped simplify these complex interactions while maintaining a consistent experience across the platform. Establishing a Scalable Design System As the platform expanded, maintaining consistency became increasingly important. I built and organized a comprehensive Figma-based design system that included reusable components, typography standards, color libraries, layout patterns, and interface modules. This foundation allowed new screens and features to be developed more efficiently while ensuring visual consistency throughout the product. The system also improved collaboration by creating a shared source of truth for future design and development efforts. Creating a Cohesive Product Ecosystem Beyond the dashboard experience itself, I contributed to the design of VeroSkills' marketing website and broader product ecosystem. Working within the company's established visual identity, I extended and refined existing design patterns across hundreds of screens and interactions. The work involved balancing visual polish with practical usability, ensuring that both students and recruiters could navigate complex workflows while maintaining confidence in the platform's professionalism and credibility. Final Result The result was a comprehensive product design framework that supported VeroSkills' mission of connecting education and employment opportunities within the technology industry. Through scalable design systems, detailed interface design, and end-to-end user experience thinking, the project established a foundation capable of supporting future product growth while delivering a cohesive experience for students, educators, recruiters, and internal stakeholders alike.
